We are extremely pleased to announce that the UNO-St. Claude Gallery will host “Sedate Maneuvers,” a solo exhibition by UNO Master of Fine Arts alumnus Dan Tague. This show is comprised of works that are the result of the artist’s self-described “slow ten year process” of mulling over art that was destroyed in the levee breaches of Hurricane Katrina, in 2005. Tague has recreated some of these works over the past three years, “through the filter of ten years” since the storm and floods. This, according to the artist, has “sparked new work that is part of the culmination of the last three years making this body of work. The new work was necessary to create a more fluid experience of my journey to the here and now.”
The gallery, located at 2429 St. Claude Ave., will hold an opening reception on Saturday, January 9, from 6-9 p.m. Exhibit dates are January 9 – February 7, 2016. Regular gallery hours are Sat-Sun, from 12-5 p.m. Please direct any inquiries to Kathy Rodriguez at klrodri2@uno.edu, or call the gallery during open hours at 504.948.6939.
